Our story

We didn’t follow the future. We built it.

Boom builds domain-specific AI for buildings. We wire it into the systems a team already runs, so the work a building creates gets done by software instead of by people chasing paperwork.

Every company selling AI into the built world started with the assistant. We started with the part nobody wanted to do, because without it the assistant is guessing.

A building has no machine-readable form. So we made one, and then we made it callable.

That is the whole company in two sentences. Everything below is how we got there, and why it took seven years.

2015

Two people who refused to accept how buildings worked.

Boom Interactive was founded by Timber Barker and Henry Asashi Yamada, who would not accept that buildings should be full of disconnected data, outdated drawings and missed opportunity.

It started as a marketing technology company, and that is where they saw the real problem up close: what broken collaboration and scattered data cost the teams working inside buildings every day. Years before AI and digital twins became words anybody used in a pitch, they were already living in that future through game development, XR, and a shared obsession with hard problems.

That obsession went through a few iterations. Each one taught us the same lesson from a different angle: you cannot automate work on top of a record that is wrong.

The Boom team together in the early years

A great team at a great moment in time. Some faces have moved on to new chapters, but the energy in this room built everything that followed and I admire every single person. — T

In January 2022, Boom lost its beloved co-founder Henry Asashi Yamada. His vision, his creativity, and his belief in what buildings could become live on in everything we build.

The method

CoreSpec is the part nobody else has.

Boom is the mission. CoreSpec 3D® is how we make it real.

CoreSpec is four things working as one: the dashboard a team works in, the living 3D record underneath it, their systems wired into both, and AI doing the work across all of it. The record is read out of the drawings the building already has, and the whole thing is reachable through one interface an agent can call directly.

The twin on its own is the least interesting part, and plenty of companies can show you one. What none of them can do is hand a team a place to work and an agent a building it can act on, over the same record, kept true without anybody maintaining it. That is the secret sauce, and it is patented.

01

The model

Drawings to a structured building in a day. Protected by granted patents in the US and Canada.

02

The interface

Every system, document and workflow reachable through one surface an agent can call.

03

The loop

Every building processed makes the model better. The work is the training data.

Today

Teams stopped asking where things are. They ask what to do next.

Boom now runs multiple technologies underneath the most capable as-built platform there is, and it is already doing real work: a five hour compliance task that finishes in fifteen minutes, an inspection round cut from nine hours to two, a record that corrects itself when the job closes instead of decaying.

It unlocks your data, connects your systems, runs your AI workflows, and gets your buildings and your teams ready for what comes next. The agents are here. The only question is whether the building they are pointed at is one they can actually understand.
